City of Manhattan Fireworks Ordinances:
• Fireworks can be discharged: July 1st through July 4th 8:00 am to 12:00 am midnight
• Fireworks can be sold: July 1st at 12:00 pm noon through July 4th at 12:00 am midnight
• It is unlawful to throw or direct fireworks in the direction of buildings, persons or other areas where a fire could start.
• It is unlawful for any person to discharge, ignite or fire any fireworks upon the public streets, alleys or avenues or in any park or public place within the City.
• Fireworks cannot be discharged within 100 feet of a fireworks stand or flammable liquid storage and dispensing facility.
• Bottle rockets and other similar self-propelled fireworks or fireworks devices consisting of a tube and attached guiding stick or rod are illegal in Kansas.
• Aerial luminaries, commonly known as a sky lantern or a floating lantern, are illegal within the City of Manhattan.
