Posted Aug 11, 2020 11:06 AM

Riley County Health Officer Julie Gibbs signed Local Health Order No. 17 Monday. The order will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and shall remain in effect until amended, superseded, or rescinded in writing, by the Riley County Local Health Officer or the Board of Riley County Commissioners, sitting as the Board of Health.

Earlier Monday, the Riley County County Commission decided in a vote to remove the requirement for bars and restaurants to screen employees for symptoms prior to each shift. Health screening of employees is now listed as a strong recommendation.Records of employee health screening at bars and restaurants do not have to be maintained or made available to the Riley County Health Department. If any bars or restaurants wish to participate in the process voluntarily, they may use the screening form attached to the order and available online. This was the only change in requirements from the previous order.
