Nancy Kay Slattery, 64, of Abilene, Kansas passed away Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene, KS.

Born January 24, 1957, in Dodge City, Kansas she was the daughter of Ignatius “Niter” Strecker Slattery and Beatrice “Snooky” Ann Slattery.
Nancy worked at the Ford County Appraiser’s office from 1993 – 2005 where she became the Ford County Appraiser. She married John Reiling on April 13, 1995 in Dodge City. She was a resident of Great Bend from 2006 – 2021. She collected Dreamsicles and various angel décor. She was known for her flowers and gardening, love of reading, baking, crocheting, bowling, shooting pool, and especially her love of animals. She took great pride in supporting the ASPCA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Reiling; both her parents, Ignatius and Beatrice Slattery; one sister, Kathy Slattery, and one nephew, Patrick James Slattery.

She is survived by four children; Tandy and husband Jason Boese of Abilene, Blake and wife Tracy Reiling of Kinsley, Megan Hinderliter of Dodge City, and Branagan Reiling of Kinsley; two brothers, Tim and wife LaRae Slattery of Wright, Pat and wife Rhonda Slattery of Kansas City, two sisters, Susie and husband Danny Campbell of Garden City, Lori and husband Kyle Litton of Ingalls, and eight grandchildren, Tiara Bollig, Alexis (Lexi) Hinderliter, Rylan Michael, Declan Zink, Kasey Boese, Ronnie Boese, Chelsea Boese, and Ashtyn Reiling.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held in Wright, Kansas at a later date. Memorials have been designated to the ASPCA and the Cancer Center of Great Bend, KS in care of Martin Becker Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
