Rick L. Weeks, 67, of Louisville, Kansas, passed away on Friday (September 29, 2023) at his home.
Born November 27, 1955 in Marysville, Kansas, Rick was the son of Frank H. and Jesse Louise (Hale) Weeks. He married Tammie Springer on April 13, 1985 in Wamego.
Rick served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1975 to 1978.
In 1980, he opened Rick’s Body Shop in Louisville which he still operated. His work was his hobby as well as spending time with his family. He was active in his community, serving for many years on the Louisville City Council. Rick was also a member of the St. George American Legion.
Survivors include a son, Frank Weeks (Cathy) of Louisville; a daughter, Maggie Lundberg (Trevor) of Westmoreland; seven grandchildren, Jorden Rekward, Aeryn Rekward, Wayne Lundberg, Lyle Lundberg, Ryleigh Lundberg and Blayne Lundberg; a brother, Don Weeks (Diana) of Junction City, KS; four sisters, Shirley Cox (Dan) of Fostoria, KS, Diana Reves (Dan) of Westmoreland, KS, Debbie Lundgren (Dave) of Westmoreland, KS and Penny Nelson (Roger) of Randolph, KS; a sister in law, Shelley Weeks of Louisville, KS; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Larry Weeks, Roger Weeks and Randy Weeks; and a sister, Lavonne “Shorty” McGuire.
Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon (October 6, 2023) at 1:00 p.m. at the Antioch Cemetery near Frankfort with Pastor Jol Klein officiating. Military Honors will be by the U. S. Marine Corps Funeral Honors Detail and the American Legion .
Visitation will be Thursday evening (October 5, 2023) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Campanella and Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.
