Manhattan High School Chamber, Concert and Symphonic Orchestras all received awards at the March and April 2021 WorldStrides Virtual Festival.
USD 383 said the Chamber Orchestra captured Gold 1st place in the String Orchestra 3A classification In-person recordings category. In April the MHS Symphonic Orchestra received Silver 3rd and the MHS Concert Orchestra won Silver 2nd in the String Orchestra 3A Classification In-person recordings category. Retired teacher Nate McClendon directed all three ensembles.
WorldStrides hosts many performing arts competitions and festivals around the U.S. Due to COVID-19, the organization hosted virtual competitions during the 2020-2021 academic year.
