Former Geary County Sheriff Jim Jensen died July 7. Johnson & Mass Hinitt confirms that at Jim's request, cremation with burial will follow at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Manhattan on Friday, July 17 at 11:00am with full military honors.
A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at the American Legion Post #45 beginning at 12:30pm, 201 E 4th St. Junction City. A visitation will take place the day prior on Thursday, July 16 from 5-7:00pm at Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home in Junction City.
Jensen served for 10 years with the Junction City Police Department and then for more than 30 years with the Geary County Sheriff's Department. He served as Geary Couny Sheriff from 2000 until 2012.
