MANHATTAN—Law enforcement authorities are investing an alleged aggravated battery in Manhattan and have a suspect in custody.
Just after 6:30a.m. Tuesday, officers filed a report for aggravated battery and criminal damage to property in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
A 19-year-old woman and a 61-year-old woman reported an 18-year-old male suspect punched and hit the 19-year-old with a child's chair during an altercation. The suspect damaged multiple items in the 61-year-old's home.
The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500. Police arrested Alapeti Manuel Ware Jr., 19, of Manhattan on requested charges of aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. He is currently confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $10,000.
