In support of K-State's plan to resume in-person classes for the fall semester the K-State Student Union will reopen on Aug. 3.

According to a K-State Today announcement every effort will be made to provide a safe space for students, faculty, staff and administrators to receive necessary services that foster a sense of community while engaging and supporting each other during such an unprecedented time.

Building hours will be modified to allow staff additional time to perform in-depth cleaning procedures of the facility. Hours will be 7am-5pm, Monday – Friday and closed Saturdays and Sundays from August 3 – 16. Union semester hours begin Monday, August 17 and will be 7am-10pm, Monday – Friday, closed on Saturdays and from 5-10pm Sundays. Accommodations will be made for the K-State home football schedule.

Events and meetings within the Union will be limited based on the guidelines set by state, local and university officials. The meeting and event space seating capacities will be adjusted to accommodate social distancing requirements; which may result in a decrease of up to 70% seating capacity in rooms.

Lounge and dining areas will be rearranged according to social distancing recommendations maintaining six (6) feet of space between tables and chairs on all levels of the Union. Spacing requirements will result in a general seating reduction of approximately 50% throughout the building.
