At the end of the day Thursday, June 25, the City of Manhattan reported crews were estimated to be about 70% complete in the Day 3 (Wednesday) neighborhood. The north central part of the community, particularly the area around Browning Street north of Kimball Avenue, was one of the hardest hit by the storm and has had a significant amount of debris to remove.

By the end of today, Friday, June 26, crews are expected to be about 90% complete with this area.

Cleanup work will continue well into next week, with a goal of finishing the final neighborhood by the end of the day Thursday, July 2. That timeline will depend on the amount of remaining debris as well as weather conditions.

If you have additional debris, missed your pickup day, or prefer not to wait for city crews, the Riley County Transfer Station, 1881 Henton Road, accepts residential yard waste at no charge. The facility is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. If you have questions, please call 785-565-6290.
