2 adults, 5 children hospitalized after 2-vehicle crash

JACKSON COUNTY—Seven people were injured in an accident just after 9a.m. Saturday in Jackson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Chevy Malibu driven by Carol A. Jacas, 56, St. Marys, was westbound on 214 Road on half mile east of U.S. 75.

The driver ran the stop sign at the intersection at Q Road. The car struck a northbound 2022 Kia Sorento driven by  Sierra D.  Phillips, 31, Holton.

EMS transported Jacas, Phillips and five children in the SUV including a 2-year-old boy; a 2-year-old girl; a 3-year-old girl; a 5-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy all of Holton to Stomont Vail.  Jacas was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
