The Geary County Food Pantry will open its new location on Thursday, May 29. The address for the new location is 700A W. 7th St. in Junction City.
Julia Loper, the President of the Board for the Geary County Food Pantry, noted that their project at the new location is not yet finished, but they will be opening their doors on Thursday. “There is still work being done to our facility, but we are open to serve our neighbors at our new location,” Loper said. Work on the project will continue to occur as the Food Pantry serves the community.
Hours at the new facility remain the same as they were at the previous location. Their hours are listed below.
Mondays and Thursdays – 10:30 a.m. - Noon
Tuesdays – 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Fresh Food Friday’s – 9:45 a.m.
A formal grand opening and ribbon-cutting will be held during the late summer or early fall months. Hutton Construction was the main contractor for the project.
