Juneteenth activities in Manhattan on Saturday begin at the Douglass Center at 8 a.m. with a 5K Fun Run.
There will be a proclamation and welcome ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at Longs Park. Casaundra Baker will sing the National Anthem and the Negro National Anthem. Also on the schedule are Mayor Wynn Butler, and Daphne Maxwell, Past Representative of the African American Affairs Commission.
The Juneteenth Unity Walk will start at 9:45 a.m. at Longs Park, and there will be a Mural Unveiling in the Douglass Activity Center Gym at 10:30.
BBQ and hamburgers will be served at 11 a.m. on the Center's lawn and there will be an art auction at noon in the gym. A Kids Money Drop is planned at 1 p.m. in Douglass Park and there will be a Car Wash Contest at 2 p.m. at the Douglass Park Basketball Court.
Juneteenth celebration activities were also held on Thursday and Friday.
