RILEY COUNTY —A Missouri man was injured and arrested after an accident just before 5p.m. Monday in Manhattan.
According to the Riley County Police Department activity reported a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban driven by William Windle, 60, of Independence, Mo., was westbound on Pierre Street at South 5th in Manhattan.
The SUV veered south onto a property and into a house. It was reported Windle backed up and hit the house again before attempting to drive away.
Windle came to a stop nearby and was detained by officers on scene. EMS transported Windle to Via Christi for treatment of minor injuries, then upon release transported him to the Riley County Jail where he was booked for driving under the influence, and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
Windle remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $3,500, according to the RCPD.
