Sharon Elaine Douthit, age 72, a longtime area resident, died September 27, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice House.
She was born March 28, 1951, in Fredericktown, Missouri, the daughter of Leroy Glen and Janelle (Sanders) Wilkinson.
Sharon graduated from Manhattan High School with the Class of 1969.
She worked at Monte’s First Call cleaners on Ogden for many years. She later worked at Walmart in Junction City for several years and stopped working when Larry got sick to take care of him.
Sharon was devoted to her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ogden American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed playing Bingo.
She was married to Larry Delane Douthit, Sr., on September 12, 1974, in Manhattan. Larry preceded her in death on September 17, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her son Eddie Douthit and by her sister Renee Warren.
Survivors include her children: Nikki Crabtree (Kirk) of Ogden, KS, and Sean Douthit (Tish) of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren: Madison, Kennedy, Josh, Kaleb and Lucus; step-son Delane Douthit (Ronda) and family of Junction City, KS; Eddie’s two children; and four siblings: Mike Wilkinson, Jana Palmisciano, Tammy Selvidge and Timmy Wilkinson.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 27th, at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Fort Riley with Chris Jacobs officiating. Family and friends are invited to meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home to form a procession to the cemetery.
