Kay A. Sanders passed away peacefully Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the Enterprise Estates Nursing Home. Kay was born April 11, 1945, in Industry, Kansas to Lee and Edna (Nichols) Enyart. She graduated from Chapman High School in 1963. Kay married George Sanders on December 5, 1964, and they were blessed with four children: Leon, Diana, Gary, and Mark. Kay enjoyed working at Russel-Stover for 10 years until retirement.
Kay truly lived life to the fullest with a great sense of adventure and zest for life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. Kay lived her last 8 years at Abilene Plaza where she created many close friendships that she cherished deeply. Kay will be remembered by her loving, fiery spirit, and contagious laugh which brought joy to all those around her.
Kay is survived by her daughter Diana Vandergriff and her husband Dayle of Houston, Texas, sons Leon Sanders of Abilene, Gary Sanders and his wife Jodi of Dallas, Texas, Mark Sanders and his wife Kaleigh of Salina, seven grandchildren Cody, Carly, Garrett, Gannon, Sarah, Charleigh, and Colston, two great grandchildren Haston and Waylon; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ed Enyart.She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her
.Graveside services for Kay will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery near Enterprise with Pastor Jason Kohler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00– 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home.
