SSG (RET) Robert Neal Wilson, 90, of Manhattan, KS passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Stoney Brook Retirement Center. Robert was born January 21, 1932 in Abilene, KS to Neal Wilson and Alice R. Smith.
Robert served in the United States Army as an Executive Chef until the end of his tenure in February of 1971. After his career in the Army he went on to work at Irwin Army Community Hospital located in Fort Riley, KS for fifteen years. Robert will truly be missed by many.
A graveside service will take place Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with full military honors.
Robert is survived by his three sisters, Alice (Glenn Simonds) Wilson, Roberta Reynolds, and Eva (Terry) Julian; five nieces, Tina (Charles) Hardie, Kindra Julian, Cheryl Rissman, and Margaret (Mike) Briggs; six nephews, Chad Krause, Liam Martin, Ryan Martin, Terry Julian, Jr., Jeffrey Briggs, and Michael Kellum; sister-in-law, Theresa Wilson; one great-nephews, Christian Hardie; and one great-niece, Sapphire Hardie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Wilson and Joesph Wilson; one sister, Mary Rauk; and one great-nephew, Jason Briggs.
