K-State announced that on Monday, Aug. 4, a section of Claflin Road will be closed for most of the day. The closure will start at the Denison Avenue and Claflin Road intersection, extending eastward to the pathway in front of Gen. Richard B. Myers Hall. The sidewalk on the south side of Claflin Road, behind Ackert Hall and Chalmers Hall, will also be closed. The north sidewalk in front of the Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center will remain open.This closure is necessary for the delivery, placement and removal of a large crane that will be used to replace an elevator in Ackert Hall.
Follow the designated detours and proceed with caution, as large trucks and equipment will be moving through the area.Pedestrians are advised to use the designated detours and exercise caution when crossing Claflin Road due to the presence of heavy trucks and equipment
