David Wayne Bowers, 70, of Manhattan, Kansas fomerly of Junction City, Kansas died Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, Kansas.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson and Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home 3-4 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the First Christian Church.
David was born October 17, 1954, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri the son of Edwin and Donna (Burnett) Bowers.
David was a retired Civil Servant at Fort Riley. He was a tank mechanic. David attended Manhattan Area Technical College and received certification as a welder. He served in the National Guard and was a member of First Christian Church.
David is survived by one sister; Regina K. Best of Junction City, KS; two brothers, Charles E. Bowers of Rutledge, Tennessee and Gary L. Bowers of Oak Point, Texas; five grandchildren, Gabriella, Ethan, Owen, Ayana and Arturo; one great-grandson, Gabriel; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin L. Bowers and Donna L. Bowers; one daughter, Rachele Berumen.
