Robert Alva Arnold Jr. (Bob,Bobby) Age 74,born in Sabetha, Ks (8/9/48), left his earthly home on Friday April 14th, 2023, at Midland Hospice in Topeka, Ks.
Bob suffered with dementia for nearly 20 years. The disease had took its toll; however he was still residing at home with his wife Lois (Rudder) of 55 years of marriage. (June 1, 1967). During his lifetime Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, mushroom hunting and most of all his life with Lois and their four daughters and many grandchildren.
Bob was a Vietnam Vet, seeing active duty in A Shau Valley, the city of Hue, the Ho Chi Minh trail, all very near the DMZ. He was wounded twice and received two Purple Hearts for defending our country.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Marie of the home. Debbie (Arnold) Ratner (daughter) and Darren Kizziah (fiancee) of Wakarusa, Ks. Cody Ratner (grandson) of Topeka. Cheyenne Ratner (granddaughter), Waylon West (great grandson) of Topeka. Shelby Ratner (granddaughter) and Jacob Anguiano (fiancee), Ava Ratner and Baylor Anguiano (grandchildren) of Topeka. Becky (Arnold) Windsor (daughter) and Ed Thorsbury (fiancee), Jeffrey Windsor (grandson) of Holton. Lyndsay (Windsor) King (granddaughter) and Eric King (husband), Brynlee King, Lainee King, and Oliver King (born 4/19/23) (grandchildren)of Onaga. Lauren (Windsor) Vagts (granddaughter) and Nathan Vagts (husband) and children Gracie Vagts and Ryan Vagts (great grandchildren) of Topeka. Sarah (Arnold) Abankwah (daughter) and Thaddeus Abankwah (husband) of Topeka. Olivia Abankwah (granddaughter) and Sophia Abankwah (granddaughter of Topeka. Jamie Stone (daughter) of Topeka and Abby Stone (granddaughter) and Caelynn Stone (granddaughter) also of Topeka. Also surviving is Richard Arnold (brother) of Hiawatha.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert Alva Arnold, Sr. and Mildred Mae (Nissen) Arnold of Padonia, Ks, Rhonda Sue (Arnold) Chandler (sister) of Hiawatha and Infant Jace Alva Arnold (grandson) of Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha. Bob Mills will officiate. Family and friends will go in procession at 2 p.m. to Oakland Cemetery for graveside services. Military honors will be a courtesy of Brown County Veterans Honor Guard.
