Mrs. Hosner was born on December 26, 1952, in Sandusky, MI to Ivan and Alva Snear. With the untimely passing of her mother, Judy was eventually fostered by Curtis and Velma Cleland, 7350 Germania Road, Cass City, MI from 1964 until June 1971 when she graduated from Cass City High School. During her high school time, Judy was the captain of the powder puff football team, a member of the girls’ basketball and softball teams and a member of the debate team. She continued to play softball for many years and added league bowling to her activities.
Judy met her future husband, Steven Hosner, when they both worked in the school cafeteria. In hind sight, she showed much patience and possibly questionable judgement by dating Steven the rest of her time in high school and marrying him after she graduated. She is lovingly remembered by Cynthia Astin (Hosner), daughter, Michael Astin (son-in-law), Caleb Astin (grandson), Elana Jaymes-Clothrap (granddaughter-in-law), great-grandchildren Emylie and Jaymes, Cora May Astin (granddaughter), Steven Richard Hosner II (son), Vicky McGuire (daughter-in-law) and Devin McGuire (grandson).
She moved with her family multiple times and worked as a cashier, cashier supervisor and a para-professional teaching physical education to grade school children. Her last move was to Manhattan, KS to be near her daughter and family.
Cremation has taken place and services will at a later date.
The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502, is assisting the family with the service arrangements.
