Covid-19 cases continue to increase in Riley County

 (RILEY COUNTY, KS – June 1, 2022) The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) recorded 32 new COVID-19 cases for Riley County between May 21-27. The Incidence Rate per 100,000 is 43.1, putting Riley County in the MODERATE incidence category which is 10 - 49 cases per 100,000 people.

Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan is currently caring for one COVID-19 positive patient.

Two additional COVID-related deaths have been verified by the Office of Vital Statistics (OVS), bringing the total number of deaths in Riley County to 87. A 79 year-old vaccinated male tested positive February 16 and passed away on April 26. He did not receive a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine. An 86 year-old vaccinated male tested positive January 26 and passed away February 22. He received one booster vaccine dose.
