Sandra "Sandi" Norton, 70, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on January 24, 2022, at Minneola Hospital in Minneola, Kansas. She was born on March 1, 1951, at Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Maurice Moore Jr. and Mable (Goerke).
She married Robert Edger on July 12, 1969. They later divorced and he preceded her in death on August 5, 2000. Sandi then married Norman “Whitey” Norton on February 14, 1998, in Dodge City, he preceded her in death on December 20, 2018. Sandi worked for the Dodge City Police Department, Kansas Soldiers Home, Rhoads Construction and Dillon’s before retiring. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchild in her spare time. Sandi always looked forward to Tuesday night ladies bowling league as well as Thursday morning ladies bowling league.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion, Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714 all of Dodge City.
She is survived by her daughter Wendy Barnett and husband Jason of Dodge City; son Scott Edger and finacee Chloe Wurst of Manhattan, Kansas; two brothers Stuart Moore and wife Melissa of Hugoton and Spencer Moore and wife Mariah of Great Bend. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Michael.
Memorial service will be held at First Christian Church on Saturday January 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM with Dusty Cookson and David Barber presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
