
Janice Ann Stone, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 6,2026, at the age of 78. Janice was born on January 27, 1947, in Saint Joseph, Missouri the daughter of William and Frances (Zbierski) Bregin.
Janice married Billy D. Stone on June 3, 1973, in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He passed away February 13, 2007.
Janice dedicated twenty-five years of her life as a food service administrator for USD #475 in Junction City, Kansas, where she was a respected figure in her field. She was a detail-oriented individual, known for her dedication to her work and her contributions to the community.
A graduate of Saint Mary's College, Janice was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed sharing stories of her lineage. She was an avid quilter and reader, taking great joy in her hobbies. Janice was a member of a quilt guild in Junction City, Kansas, where she connected with others who shared her passion. Her involvement extended to the retired teacher's association, further demonstrating her commitment to education and community service.
Janice thrived in her family life and cherished the long conversations shared with her son, Tom, and the times spent traveling with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Tom Stone and his wife Eugenia of Fenton, Missouri, and Billy Stone, Jr. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Sofia Ann Stone, and her brother, William Bregin.
Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on January 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed following the visitation. A Funeral Service is scheduled for January 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Peter O'Donnell as celebrant.
Janice Ann Stone will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family, and her passion for her interests. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
