Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Kuykendall, 75, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on Monday (June 19, 2023) at the home of her niece in Wamego, Kansas.
Born January 26, 1948, in Montclair, New Jersey, Beth was the daughter of Edward Joseph and Ottina Mayerhoffer Plendl. She married Forrest Lee Kuykendall on September 14, 1973, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2017.
Beth was a graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and earned her Master Degree in Special Education. Many of her favorite years were spent teaching in Mathis, Texas, where she made friends that became family to her.
She loved being outdoors and spending time with her dogs, friends, and family. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel like they were family. Beth knew every pet in the neighborhood, often stopping to chat with them and offer treats. Her smile and laughter were infectious, and wherever she was, she spread joy. Beth embodied kindness, often volunteering and helping family and friends, no matter the need. She loved completing home renovation projects with her dear friend, Janine.
Survivors include her sister, Edna Nixdorff, of Toms River, NJ; her niece, Jennifer Topliff (Adam) of Wamego, KS; her nephew, Darryl Haley of Leesburg, FL; and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest; sister-in-law Etta Kuykendall; and a nephew, John Haley.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. No services will be held, at Beth’s request.
