RILEY COUNTY —A Manhattan was injured in an accident just before 6:30a.m. Friday in Riley County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Austin R. Gano, 23, Manhattan, was northbound on Seth Child Road at Anderson Avenue.
The car crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2017 Dodge Durango driven by Eric J. Parish, 40, Manhattan.
Gano was airlifted to KU Medical Center. Parish was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.

MANHATTAN -UPDATE: As of 9:00 am Friday morning the area of Seth Child Road over Anderson Avenue has been reopened to traffic.

MANHATTAN - Just before 7:00 am Friday, Riley County Police Department is asking the public to avoid Seth Child Road between Kimball Avenue and Amherst Avenue while emergency crews respond to an injury crash on the Anderson Avenue overpass.
Just before 7:00, RCPD sent out the Avoid the Area notification through Everbridge and posted alerts to their social media accounts to alert drivers.
Riley County Police Department, Public Information Officer, Aaron Wintermote has confirmed one person was life-flighted from the scene after being extricated from their vehicle.
