Lois "Jane" Roberts

Lois "Jane" Roberts, 89, Junction City, KS, passed away June 9, 2022, at her home in Junction City. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Gnanasekar Kulandai officiating.

Jane was born September 22, 1932 in Marysville, KS, the daughter of Leo and Ursula (Eckart) Johnson. She married Eugene “Gene” Roberts May 2, 1952 in Hanover, KS. They moved to Junction City in 1956, where they raised their seven children.

Jane worked for the Fabric Shop in Junction City for many years. She was known as an exemplary seamstress in the Junction City community.  Jane also worked in the floral department at Dillons Grocery Store.

She did countless hours of volunteer work for the Geary Community Hospital and the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation. Most recently, she sewed dresses for young girls in Africa. She was a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time at the Geary County Senior Center, playing games and connecting with friends.

She was also known for wearing heels well into her 80s. Her fashion sense and homemade pies will be missed by many.

A grandmother of five and adopted grandmother by many, Jane loved watching youth sports. She was most proud of seeing all her grandchildren graduate college.

Survivors include two sons; James "Jim" Roberts of Kansas City, MO and William "Bill" Roberts (Mana) of Huntsville TX; five daughters, Beth Reggiannini (Robert) of Melbourne, FL, Deborah "Deb" LaHolt (Ron) of Lincoln, NE, Mary Macklin of Kansas City, MO, Janel Roberts and Sally Hamby (Lee) of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Dr. Morgan LaHolt (Nicole), Spencer E. Macklin (Laura), Madison Shaw (Jacob), Garrison Roberts and Nathan Hamby; three great-grandchildren, Ainsley LaHolt, Renton LaHolt and Tallulah Macklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church located at 218 N. Washington St, Junction City, KS, or to the Geary County Senior Center located at 1025 S. Spring Valley Rd., Junction City, KS 66441.
