Sharon’s life began on September 23, 1941, in Herington. She is the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Brockmeier) Schlesener. Sharon is a 1959 graduate of Herington High School and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School. She was united in marriage to Larry D. Senner in December of 1959 at the St. Paul’s Church. Sharon worked in the banking industry starting as a teller and working her way up to Vice-President of Citizen’s State Bank in Abilene. She enjoyed traveling with Larry, her friends, and family. During retirement, Sharon and Larry liked to test their luck at the casinos.
She is fondly remembered as an outstanding gardener, taking care of the lawn, and being a great neighbor. Sharon loved to do crafts and with her sister Shirley took their crafts to shows across the state of Kansas. She was a strong and determined woman, wife, aunt, and friend.
Sharon is survived by her husband Larry and siblings Glen Schlesener and Donna Jean (Dale) Koontz and several nieces and nephews. Sharon passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2023, at Memorial Health System in Abilene, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Shirley Longabaugh and Carolyn Stewart. Sharon’s family has selected cremation. There will be no services. A private inurnment will be at a later date.
