Phyllis Jacqueline (Trow) Dority, 83, of Bennington, Kansas, passed away, Wednesday, March 29, at Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wakefield, Kansas.
Phyllis was born on August 13, 1939, in Minneapolis, Kansas, to Tommy and Bernice (Joseph) Trow. She was the oldest of three girls.
Phyllis was raised in Minneapolis and Salina. She was a majorette for Salina Central High School.
Phyllis married Arlen N. Dority on Feb 6, 1957.
After they married, they lived in Salina for 9 years before moving to Aurora, Colorado, where they lived for 12 years. They moved back and settled down in Bennington in 1978.
She was a homemaker but also worked for Swift Processing in Salina, was the Bakery Manager for King Sooper in Aurora, Colorado and as a waitress at Bayard's Cafe in Salina.
Phyllis loved to sew and made Barbie clothes for the girls for Christmas. She also loved living in the country where her husband, father, and family helped build their home. She also liked doing ceramics, camping, traveling, dancing, and puzzles.
Survivors include her daughters, Lanette Millieson (Ron), Keyna Leonard (Sam); son, Douglas Dority; sister, Debby Jackson; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
She also raised Kodiak Dority as her own. She loved him with all her heart and was very proud of his accomplishments in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years; sister, Patricia; granddaughter, Clairessa; grandson, James; and great grandson, Aaron.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3rd, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 4th, at the funeral home with burial following at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.
