Clifford Eugene “Doc” Noffsinger, age 88, died October 17, 2023, at the Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS. He was born during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl years, the youngest of seven on September 18, 1935, in Osborne, Kansas to Lysle and Ruth (Galley) Noffsinger. Cliff grew up in the Osborne area and graduated from Osborne High School.  He then went on to Kansas State University earning a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1963.

Cliff married the love of his life Delilah “Dee” Thaete on August 15, 1959. They made their home in Atchison, Kansas while Cliff worked for Dr. Watson. They then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska for a brief period, where Cliff worked as a meat inspector, then as a veterinarian until the family moved to Clay Center, Kansas in 1969. After working for Dr. Linder for a few years, Cliff started his own veterinary practice in 1972. He retired in 2015 at the age of 80 and closed his veterinary practice in 2021. Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding tractors, and gardening. He (and his uncle, a previous Clay Center veterinarian, Dr. Frank Galley) was very creative in modifying cattle chutes, an operating table, leg braces, medical equipment, etc. to fit the needs of the animal. Cliff was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Kansas Livestock Association.

He is preceded in death by parents; siblings; Clyde Noffsinger, Marjorie Jackson, Dorothy Detwiler, Wayne Noffsinger, Marietta Goering, and Lyla Legg.

Survivors:

Wife: Dee Noffsinger of Clay Center, Kansas

Son: Steve Noffsinger of Castle Rock, Colorado

Daughter: Julie and husband Timothy Nosal of Decatur, Michigan

One grandson, 3 step granddaughters and 4 step great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services: Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS 

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS

Visitation: Friday, October 20, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at the St. Paul Lutheran Church
