Kaye Frances Eveleth (Murphy) 83 of Abilene, left her earthly life on February 22, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene.
Kaye was born April 30, 1940 in Long Beach California to Warren and Melva (Fisher) Murphy. Kaye grew up in Dickinson County and attended Chapman High School graduating with the class of 1958.Kaye met her husband to be on a blind date and following graduation from high school John Alvin Eveleth and Kaye were married on October 26, 1958. To this union three sons were born. Warren Kent Eveleth, Terry Lee Eveleth, and Perry Dee Eveleth who died at birth.
Kaye was active in the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and served several times as Worthy Grand Martha. For over 40 years as a member of the Daughters of the Nile serving as Queen in 1994. Kaye and John were enjoyed traveling for the ISIS Shrine for many years. Kaye and John were members of Emanuel Church in Abilene. Kaye had worked for 17 years at Vacu-Blast, and 17 years at the Duckwall-Alco warehouse. She also filled in as receptionist and Waitress at Brown Memorial Home, and Frontier Estates as well as helping her son Kent at the Shamrock Cafe in Chapman.
Surviving Kaye are here sons, Warren “Kent” of Abilene and Terry Eveleth of McFarland, Kansas. Kaye was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John and Infant son Perry.
Memorial services for Kaye will be held Thursday February 29th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Danner Funeral Home 501 N. Buckeye. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. preceding the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service at the Abilene Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Kaye's honor to The Order of Eastern Star Companion Dogs, The shrine's Hospital for Crippled Children, or the Emanuel Church Missions and may be sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home 501 N. Buckeye Abilene, Kansas 67410
