
WABAUNSEE COUNTY—Spring storms brought rain, large hail, gusty winds and tornadoes to portions of Kansas on Thursday.
National Weather survey teams found EF-1 tornado damage that occurred in southern Morris county near Lake Kahola. Three additional EF-0 tornadoes were observed across Lyon and Wabaunsee counties.

According to the National Weather Service, at 6:26p.m., short-lived tornado quickly developed to the southwest of Dunlap in rural Morris County. The tornado tracked along the north side of Lake Kahola before crossing the lake and dissipating just northeast of the lake.
Several outbuildings and sheds were destroyed, damaging nearby homes. The tornado had estimated peak winds of 110mph. The path was approximately 1 mile, was 30-yards wide. It was on the ground for approximately four minutes. There were no injuries reported from this tornado.
Just after 6p.m. Thursday, an EF0 tornado touched down in at 7 SE Volland in rural Wabaunsee County. It had estimated winds of 70mph, was on the ground for approximately one half mile, had a width of 30 yards and was over at 6:05p.m. It caused no injuries.
At 7:03p.m. Another tornado was reported at 5 WNW of Alma in rural Wabaunsee County. The EF0 tornado had peak winds of 70mph, was on the ground for 3.34 miles, with a maximum width of 30 yards. The tornado lifted at 7:09p.m. at 4 NNW Alma. There were no injuries reported.
At 7:08p.m. another tornado was reported at 4 S Allen in rural Lyon County. The EF0 had estimated peak winds of 85mph, a maximum width of 50 yards and was on the ground for one mile when it lifted a 7:14p.m. near 3 SSW Admire.
