Randy Joe Floberg, age 70 of Topeka, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka.
He was born on September 13, 1953, in Manhattan, the son of Wayne T. and Gladys E. (Hohman) Floberg. Randy’s early years were spent in Randolph, Kansas and he grew through his teen years in Manhattan, Kansas.
Randy made his career in the Construction Industry, starting as general labor, but he quickly progressed to heavy equipment operating specializing in cranes, then on to a long-term supervisory position in municipal swimming pool construction with Carrothers Construction Company. He had a solid reputation for handling the on-site issues encountered with remote construction sites. Randy enjoyed the outdoors with emphasis on both fishing and bird hunting along with spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his faithful companion, Denise Wagner; five stepchildren, Renee, Johnny, Holly, Bobbie, and Sarah; seven grandchildren, and an expected great grandchild; two brothers, Roland (Cheryl) and Dean (Jill); one stepbrother, John; two stepsisters, Diana, and Denise; nieces, Lois, Lara, Kirstin, and nephew Dane. Randy graciously accepted the parental responsibility of his stepchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara; a nephew, Gregg, and his stepmother, Zadie.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024, in the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery.
