GEARY COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 3a.m. Sunday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford F150 driven by Barnard, Anthony E. Barnard, 23, Junction City, was eastbound on Interstate 70 overpass at Washington Street in Junction City.
The driver fell asleep. The pickup traveled into the median, hit the guard rail, traveled back into the driving lane and the driver overcorrected.
The pickup traveled back into the median, hit the guard rail again and overturned.
EMS transported Barnard and a passenger Pierce J. Stefen, 20, Schofield, Wisconsin, to Stormont Vail. They were both properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
