Vernon Michael Tabor, 63, of Manhattan, died January 26, 2022.

Vernon was born on October 6, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Vernon and Blanch Tabor. He studied at the University of Kansas and had a long career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, at the field office in Manhattan. In his retirement Vernon enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and family, and making the most out of life. No one was a stranger to Vernon. He is survived by his children, Thorin Tabor (Alexandra Oleske) of La Jolla, California, and Lisa Tabor of Cedar Falls, Iowa; his sisters, Susan Reitemeier (Ed) of Kansas City, Kansas, and Sandy Tabor (John Ellis) of St. Croix, USVI; his grandson Loki Tabor; and also, his nephew Matthew Reitemeier of Kansas City, Kansas. Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas Land Trust.
