Starting Monday, May 19, the City of Manhattan said that BHS Construction will resume redevelopment efforts in Aggieville. Work will begin at the intersection of 12th and Moro streets, followed by improvements to North 12th Street that will continue into 2026.
From May 19 through approximately June 20, Moro Street will be closed from North Manhattan Avenue to 11th Street, along with 12th Street from Moro north to the alley between Bluemont Avenue and Moro.
During this time, parking in the Aggieville Garage will be free to the public.
At the same time, 12th Street also will close from Moro south to the alley between Laramie Street and Moro. This section is expected to remain closed through at least November 2025. After that, construction will continue moving south on 12th Street in phases, ultimately concluding at Fremont Street in the fall of 2026.
This project includes replacements and upgrades to water, sewer, and stormwater systems, along with new streetscapes, improved sidewalks, and expanded outdoor dining areas that will enhance the long-term experience in Aggieville.
Vehicle access into Aggieville during construction remains available via 11th Street, Bluemont Avenue, North Manhattan Avenue, and Laramie Street (map below).
Pedestrian routes will be maintained along 12th Street and Moro, although specific pathways may shift as construction progresses. All businesses will remain open and accessible throughout the project, with clearly marked walkways to guide visitors.
