MANHATTAN, Kan. – More than 250 young professionals from communities across Kansas gathered in Manhattan for the Kansas Young Professionals Summit, a day dedicated to professional development, networking, leadership and inspiration.
Hosted in Manhattan, the statewide event brought together emerging leaders from a variety of industries and communities to exchange ideas, build meaningful connections and explore opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Under the theme "Built for What's Next," the Summit featured an impressive lineup of keynote speakers and breakout sessions designed to equip young professionals with the tools, connections and confidence to take the next steps in their careers and communities.
The day began with an opening keynote, "The Energy of Opportunity in Kansas," featuring Jake Akehurst and Natalie Zinai. Attendees also heard from Morgan Huelsman, whose keynote, "From Kansas to Music City: Finding a Career Without a Script," explored navigating an unconventional career path and embracing opportunities along the way. The Summit concluded with keynote speaker Chris Hupe, who encouraged attendees to "Dream Big. Show Up. Leave a Mark."
Throughout the day, attendees selected from 16 breakout sessions covering a wide range of topics, including leadership, financial planning, entrepreneurship, technology, personal branding, civic engagement and career development. Sessions explored everything from navigating artificial intelligence in the workplace and advocating for yourself to building a meaningful career, finding balance and making an impact in your community.
The momentum will continue in 2027, as Manhattan will once again host the Kansas Young Professionals Summit Oct 24-25 at the Hilton Garden Inn. Organizers look forward to building on this year's success with even more opportunities for connection, inspiration and professional growth.
