Patrice Ellen Shane Ayala, 68 of Abilene, formerly of California passed away January 16, 2024. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 21, 1955, the daughter of Shane L. Shane and Jean (Garrett) Shane. Patrice lived in California before moving to Kansas in 2008.&nbsp; She loved books, animals, and music and was an avid horsewoman. She played the viola for many years.

 Patrice was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Martin Shane. She is survived by an aunt, Rose Malanche, cousins Zane and Nader, and her long time friend Elaine O’Brien.

 Patrice’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time. Memorials are suggested to go to the Friends of Animals, Inc. PO Box 850, Junction City, Kansas 66441.
