The annual Veterans Day Parade by the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition is set for 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 in Manhattan. City Commissioners received an update Tuesday night for what was described as the largest Veterans Day Parade in Kansas.
It will begin at the Manhattan Town Center parking lot and follow a route to City Hall on Poyntz Ave. The theme will be Veterans Helping Veterans.
Preceding the parade will be a Veterans Breakfast from 7-9 a.m. at the American Legion Post 17, 114 McCall Road. The breakfast for veterans will be free and there will be a small charge for others.
Following the parade there will be a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. at Peace Memorial Auditorium at City Hall. Capt. ( Ret.) Mike Riley will be he keynote speaker.
