RCPD: 2 brothers arrested in separate child rape cases

RILEY COUNTY —Two Manhattan brothers have been arrested in separate rape and aggravated criminal sodomy cases reported to have occurred in Manhattan from 2017 to 2021, according to a media release from the Riley County Police Department.

On February 21, 2021, officers filed a report for past sex offenses in Manhattan, listing a now 10-year-old female as the victim and a now 27-year-old male as the suspect. Severino Jimenez Calleja, 27, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on March 5, 2021, on two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy of a child under 14 years of age and four counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

On February 25, 2021, officers filed a report for past aggravated offenses in Manhattan, listing a now 10-year-old female as the victim and a 31-year-old male as the suspect. Antonio Jimenez Calleja, 31, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on March 5, 2021, on two counts of rape of a child under 14 years of age, aggravated criminal sodomy of a child under 14 years of age, and aggravated incident liberties of a child under 14 years of age.

Both men are confined in the Riley County Jail on total bonds of $400,000.00 each.
