Ascension Via Christi
Manhattan, Kan. — May 19, 2026 — Expectant parents are invited to attend a free, in-person childbirth education class at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. Led by the experienced nursing team from the hospital’s Birth and Women’s Center, the half-day session aims to demystify the labor process and empower families through education and support.
The class provides accurate medical information and practical tools to help parents-to-be feel confident and respected in their choices, fostering a positive birthing experience. It covers a comprehensive range of topics, including managing the final weeks of pregnancy, recognizing when to go to the hospital, the stages of labor and positions for laboring at home and in the hospital. Nursing staff will also provide information on support techniques such as breathing and massage, medical interventions, pain management options, and newborn behavior and care after discharge.
Class Schedule & Location The class is offered from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, 1823 College Ave, on: ● Saturday, May 23, 2026 ● Saturday, June 27, 2026 ● Saturday, July 18, 2026.
