MANHATTAN — Nearly 50 years after Hal Holbrook first brought Mark Twain to life on the McCain Auditorium stage, Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Thomas brings "Mark Twain Tonight!" back to the McCain Performance Series.
See the show on Thursday, Oct. 2.Beloved by generations for his portrayal of John-Boy Walton in "The Waltons," Thomas has also graced stages and screens as Mr. Webb in the Broadway musical "Our Town," Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird," and Nathan Davis on Netflix's "Ozark."
As the first and only actor to perform "Mark Twain Tonight!" since Holbrook, Thomas is earning critical acclaim for his portrayal of the legendary one-man show. The New York Times praised his masterful embodiment of "the nation's one true comic genius," while Time Magazine highlighted Twain's "uproariously funny" and "pungently wise" humor brought to life through Thomas's performance.
