Alan E. Rickel, age 64, of Manhattan, died February 14, 2024, at his residence.
He was born March 13, 1959, in Manhattan, the son of Edward A. Sr. and Molly A. (Bargas) Rickel.
Alan graduated from Manhattan High School with the Class of 1977.
He had worked in customer service and for many trades in the labor industry.
Alan was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Alan never met a stranger, he had a good heart, and always had a great story to share! He always told Brent and Maggie that when he won the lottery that he had good stories to tell them with what he was going to do with the winnings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece Justina Vanderlinde.
Survivors include his three sisters: Melissa Morrill and her husband Scott, Teresa McMillin and her husband Mark, and Monica Rickel all of Manhattan; nieces and nephews: Brent and Maggie Morrill and Francis and Rodney Craig; and his cousin Rick Salter that was like a brother to Alan.
Private family graveside services will be held at Sunrise Cemetery with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Molly A. Rickel Research Library at Ascension Via Christi Hospital. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.
