Jim Ferguson died, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Meadowlark Hills - Collins House in Manhattan.
He was born in Chandler, Oklahoma on June 3, 1943 to Ruth and John Ferguson. As a youth, Jim was very athletic and enjoyed numerous sports. He excelled at competitive diving and won many awards. Eventually Jim gravitated toward golf and became an excellent golfer. He was so good, in fact, many said he could have been on the Senior Circuit.
Jim worked at Dayton Tire for over 30 years, holding numerous positions in the factory. Building tires was his last job in which he set several records for numbers built in a shift. Jim was in the army reserves for a short time. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Knights of Columbus.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, father and only brother Beau.
He is survived by his second wife, Linda Lou Ferguson and her adult children Erin Rodgers, Jeff Baker and Erin’s children: Alissa Morales Acuna and her daughter Shanisty; Trent Hammer and Caleb Hammer. Jim also had two daughters by his first marriage to Linda Lee Ferguson, (deceased). Jamie Hubbard and her children Beau, Riley and Jackson. LeeAnn Biggers, husband David, and children Jordan, Jace, Bradley and Cade.
Jim suffered from dementia and resided at Meadowlark Hills for many years. In his last several years, Jim lived in Collins House where he received compassionate and loving care from the CNA’s and nurses that worked there. The family will forever be grateful for the empathy they showed and for their tender hearts.
