This Thursday, November 11, is Veteran’s Day, and in addition to the annual parade, the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition presents its first-ever VetFest celebration across from City Hall at 11th Street and Poyntz.
This year the FHVC commemorates the 30th Anniversary of Desert Storm. The festivities start at 10:30, following the annual Veteran’s Day Parade with displays of military vehicles and equipment, Riley County Police and Fire Department vehicles, Bounce Houses, Food Trucks, Organizational displays and more.
The Flint Hills Veterans Coalition works in partnership with Kansas State University Army and AirForce ROTC, Fort Riley, Riley County Commission, Manhattan City Commission and other organizations to make this new event happen.
