Judy E. Smith, 67, of Manhattan, Kansas formerly of Junction City, Kansas passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas. Cremation will take place. A private graveside service will take place at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Friends of Animals P.O. Box 580 Junction City, Kansas 66441.
Judy was born on December 9, 1956, Junction City, Kansas the daughter of Ted and Chlora (Connolly) Bridges. Judy lived in Beacon, Iowa from 2016 until 2021. Judy worked for Geary Community Hospital in the laundry department. She enjoyed bingo and listening to Elvis. Everyone knew Judy by her jewelry. She liked the glitz and bling with jewelry. Most of all she enjoyed cooking her famous pork chops and spending time with her dogs.
Judy was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married George L. Smith February 14, 1976 in Junction City, Kansas. George died June 10, 2023. Judy is survived by two daughters, Mary L. Pope of Junction City, Kansas and Julie E. Smith of Junction City, KS; four grandchildren, Tyler M. Pope of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Nicholas R. Pope of Beacon, Iowa, Nathaniel L. Smith and Kaylie Snyder both of Junction City, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Mazikeen Jolene Pope, Remington Dean Pope and Alexandra Petrova Pope; one brother, Terry Estes of Onaga, Kansas; one sister, Pamela Keene of Junction City, Kansas. Judy is also survived by her dog Leila.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George L. Smith; two sisters, Janice D. Smocovich, Mary Estes; one brother, William L. Estes.
