Approximately 10,000 Soldiers from Fort Riley participated in a Division Run on Monday to celebrate the Army's 250th birthday. Garrison Commander Col. Gerald "Jerry" Nunziato described the run in formation "awe inspiring when you see that number of Soldiers lined up to run in a formation."

This Friday there will be a free concert on the Arillery Parade featuring Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Bring your own chairs. There will be food trucks, beverages, plus bouncy house activities for children. There is a link on the Fort Riley web page to sign up for an online pass to get on Main Post. The main parking area will be at the community center just up the road from the Artillery Parade Field.
Victory Week activities are scheduled from June 23 - 27 featuring competions from softball to combatives. There will be another free concert June 27 about 6:30 p.m. at the Artillery Parade Field featuring the 1st Infantry Division Rock Band and the country singers Matty & Tae along with Haley Mae Campbell. Those performances will be followed by fireworks.
