Did you know heating is the second leading case of home fires?It's cold outside and many of you may be resorting to alternate sources of heat to keep your home warm. Here are some things to be cautious of
-Plug one one heat-producing appliance (space heater, etc.) into an electrical outlet at a time.- Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet from fireplaces, wood stoves, radiators and space heaters.- Turn off space heaters when leaving the room or going to bed.- Have a qualified professional clean and inspect your chimney and vents every year.
