
Wamego High School Honor Flight will embark upon its ninth trip to share the national monuments in Washington D.C. with honored veterans over a span of two days. There will be 25 area veterans accompanied on the trip by 25 select members of the Wamego High School National Society.
Media Specialist Jana Lindley noted that their homecoming will be held on Thursday, April 28th at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Lincoln Street where the public can cheer with flags and signs as the bus rolls into town. Student guardians will introduce themselves and their veterans.
An additional feature this year will be a "Red, White and Blue Cruise event on Lincoln starting at 7:30 p.m. until the bus reaches Wamego. Anyone is encouraged to cruise main street in classic cars, trucks or motorcycles.
