MANHATTAN - On Wednesday afternoon, WTC announced they will be investing $50 million dollars into expanding their fiber network to all residents within Manhattan city limits in the next 36 months.
WTC which provides Fiber-to-the-Premise(FTTP) technology will expand it's fiber to all residents and households in Manhattan after spending the last several years connecting to many of the businesses.
“Fiber connectivity for a community changes everything” stated Jeff Wick, CEO of WTC. “Fiber broadband is not just about faster Internet speeds, it builds a foundation of innovation, community development and economic growth,” he added.
This expansion will continue to improve educational opportunities, enable remote work environments and advance access to healthcare services and continue to grow economic development in Manhattan.
“Investing in fiber isn’t just a technological upgrade but a strategic investment in the economic well-being and overall development of our community,” stated Jason Smith, President and CEO of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. “The positive ripple effects of such an initiative will contribute to a more inclusive, connected, and economically vibrant society.”
