Billie Swenson, 96, of Clay Center, died January 2 at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor.&nbsp; She was born on March 25, 1925, the daughter of Julius Spires and Lilly Bell (Prosser) Altman.

Billie grew up in Johnsonville, S.C., where she graduated from high school.&nbsp; She attended business school in Asheville, N.C.&nbsp; She married Eugen Swenson on October 26, 1945.&nbsp; The couple moved to Clay Center in in 1954.&nbsp;

Billie was a member of the First Baptist Church, 50 year member of P.E.O., Red Cross volunteer for over 40 years, she was a passionate golfer and member of the Clay Center Country Club for many years and a Meals on Wheels volunteer. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Greg Swenson, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Daughter: Nancy and husband, Ben Oard of Inman, Kansas

3 grandchildren, Amy (Greg) Mauck, Benjamin (Jandee) Oard and Brian Oard and 8 great grandchildren.

Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January&nbsp; 4, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the Clay Center First Baptist Church and can be sent c/o the funeral home.
